Stress...you just can't get away from it!

My reading in my textbook this morning talked about the stress of a wedding.  When I read the chapter title, I literally outloud, said "DUH!"  Anyone who has ever planned an event or known someone planning an event knows there is stress involved.  Even the small events that take place in a few hours have stress that preceed them.
I will never forget my first real event I planned at D'Vine Wine.  I had got to the place, unloaded all the items I needed to take in and was waiting for the manager or chef or owner to get there and open the place up for me.  I was soo nervous about not having enough time to set up before the event that we had arrived 3 hours prior to the event.
With weddings, there are so many more opportunities for stress to seep in.  My thoughts go to family members first.  In my own personal life I think about the family members who are demanding and think their way is the right way.  Then there are other family members who will go along with whatever you say.  Then there are my favorite kind of family members, who have their own opinions but won't voice them unless you ask for them specifically.  These same family members usually won't be hurt if you ask for their opinions and then don't use them.  Pray that you have these kind of family members!  If you don't, hire a consultant like me!
Dealing with family members of your own can be tricky, you don't want to hurt their feelings and if they are pitching in with money or services for the wedding, you don't want them to take it back.  Usually family members handle themselves very differently with an unknown person and their own family.  It's easy to get caught up in the moment with family members, but with unknown people, they usually watch their behavior.   A consultant can help smooth some of the tension and get the message across in a professional manner.  In the end, everybody really wants an amazing event enjoyed by all.
